"hmm"

date: July 6, 2009

how strange, ironic, and possibly not too surprising.

I accidentally played another one of ur songs in a differnt animation, Sinking Weightless, with the Ingenuity animation at the same friggin time.

perhaps its b/c both songs are urs and hence similar in style but they created a pretty unique new layering that could turn out to be pretty damn fucking wicked with a some editing.

i don't think it'd be a bad thing to try out and see what happens...combining both songs?

_-/| The War Helmet

"the opening was great!"

date: August 9, 2006

i really enjoyed this song, i just had it on loop over and over and it fit so well within itself. like i stated before, i like the opening of the song, it immediately captures the attention and brings one into the chords that seem to dance through the air and the voices raise the notes to flow.
i gave an 8 in orginiality b/c it reminds me of Blackmoore's Night music, check it out.
Diversity was a 9 b/c it did somewhat repeat itself but one is usually too into the music to really notice. clarity was perfect and i almost never give a full score on anything. effort was evident throughout but there is always room for improvement^^. sum of those scores, i gave u what i put. it is a very nice piece of work u have. although the ending could be tweaked (however way u want it) to both loop as it is now and end with a some sort of final ending. Sorry bout being vague, i don't wanna influence u into doing anything should u decide to redo this song.

Author's Response:

Thanks Serra, I don't really plan on expanding this song far too much, I feel that the story I had in mind for this piece, ends abruptly, and loops accordingly. I used to play a game with this song, where I would play it, and imagine a young person holds up the battered helmet, and puts it on. The young lad finds himself in a flurry of movement, arrows, orders, everything is flying everywhere. I made it serene, because this is through the eyes of the helmet, it cannot feal the fear the owner is feeling. It can only tell the story.

At the end, the young lad dies, and the helmet with its fallen owner comes back camp.

Another boy picks up the helmet... repeat story.

I am glad you enjoyed it, this was one of my more worked on pieced ^^. Thanks for the review.

_-/| A Deep Suffering

"one thing that bothers me is..."

date: August 9, 2006

is that laughing or crying? honestly, the first thought that came into my head was someone laughing their asses off. I'm heard real weeping in anguish and that sounded nothing like it. the music itself was more on the typical side and could be better. I felt nothing from this piece. I think your other work is far better than this.

Author's Response:

In all honesty, this wasn't a song I normally did. I usually do milder stuff, but I decided to one day, go as far as I could, and though this probably wasn't as far I would want to go, in this specific feel it was a first try. I understand, it may very have been a failure, so I respect your thoughts.

For the record, it begins with laughing, and ends with crying ;). But I guess thats the flaw in soundeffects like that, there is no geniune suffering that is recorded.

Thanks for the review ^^.

Personally, I enjoyed this one more so than the first. It has the sensation of flying over clouds. But clarity is a little less than perfect. In the same token, it gives the feeling of distance.

Although at certain points it seems you have a little trouble hitting notes but overall, it was mostly pleasant to listen to. You certainly have guts.

this song was really beautiful and sounds original in comparison to FF. I've just played Vandal Axil Part 1 and the music was interesting. I enjoyed this song and I hope that you will submit the music you've used for the game as well.
